Legal Notice

This Legal Notice governs access to and use of the riftcompass.com website ("RiftCompass" or "the Site"). It is provided under Spanish Law 34/2002 on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (LSSI-CE), as RiftCompass's operator is based in Spain; where EU law provides broader protection it applies equally to visitors from other member states.

1. Site owner identification

RiftCompass is currently a non-commercial personal project. No tax identification number is published because the Site does not yet carry out any economic or commercial activity; this Legal Notice will be updated with that information before any monetisation (for example, advertising) goes live.

2. Purpose

RiftCompass is a stats and toolkit web app for League of Legends players: profile and match search via the public Riot Games API, player comparisons, a personal improvement roadmap, and a set of standalone tools (draft simulator, map editor, calculators, and more). Most content is free and doesn't require registration; some features (saving profiles, drafts and maps) require creating an account.

All champion, match and profile data shown on the Site comes from the public Riot Games API or from Data Dragon/Community Dragon, subject to Riot Games' developer terms of use.

4. Terms of access and use

Access to the Site is free, except for the cost of your own internet connection. By using the Site, you agree to make appropriate and lawful use of it, in line with applicable law, this Legal Notice, and ordinary standards of good conduct. The following are expressly prohibited:

  • Using the Site for fraudulent, unlawful purposes or in a way that harms third-party rights or interests
  • Introducing or spreading viruses or any other system capable of damaging the Site, its infrastructure, or that of third parties
  • Attempting to access, use or manipulate other users' data without authorisation
  • Scraping, automated crawling or bulk extraction of data from the Site without prior written authorisation
  • Deliberately overloading the Site's infrastructure or the Riot Games API through it

5. User accounts

Certain features (saving profiles, draft simulator picks, maps, or customising your account) require registering with an email address and password. You're responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for any activity carried out from your account.

RiftCompass never asks for or stores your Riot Games/League of Legends account credentials. RiftCompass's own account system is completely independent from Riot Games'.

6. Intellectual and industrial property

The design, structure, source code, text and other original elements of the Site belong to Julio López Suárez, unless otherwise stated, and are protected under intellectual and industrial property law.

Images, icons and champion/match data come from Riot Games' public developer tools (Data Dragon, Community Dragon, and the Riot Games API) and remain the property of Riot Games, Inc., used in accordance with their fan content policy.

7. Liability disclaimer

RiftCompass makes data obtained through the public Riot Games API available as-is, without any verification, guarantee of accuracy, or endorsement by Riot Games. We don't guarantee continuous, uninterrupted or error-free availability of the Site, particularly regarding data that depends on third-party services (Riot Games) outside the owner's control.

The Site's tools (calculators, simulators, improvement roadmap) are for informational and entertainment purposes only; none of their recommendations constitute professional advice or a guarantee of in-game results.

8. External links

The Site may contain links to third-party pages (for example, Riot Games' official patch notes). The owner assumes no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of those sites.

9. Governing law and jurisdiction

This Legal Notice is governed by Spanish law. For any dispute arising from access to or use of the Site, and without prejudice to any rights you may have as a consumer under applicable consumer-protection law (including access to the EU's Online Dispute Resolution platform), disputes will be submitted to the courts with legal jurisdiction.

10. Changes to this notice

The owner may update this Legal Notice to reflect legal changes or changes to how the Site works. We recommend reviewing this document periodically.
